Announcement (6th Update)

Due to the current spread of the new Influenza A (H1N1) in Kobe-city and Osaka prefecture, OKU decided to cancel all of the classes (both undergraduate and graduate school) for 6.5 days from Monday-May 18th to Sunday-May 24th.

Students are required to observe the following:


1. All of the classes (undergraduate, graduate, fieldworks, and etc) shall be cancelled.
2. Engaging in extracurricular activities, lectures, conferences, or any activities carried out with a group of people shall be prohibited.
3. Works that are essential to the school operation or researches that do not require group activities may be permitted.
4. Performances or lectures to be held in OKU shall be cancelled or postponed. In the case that any such events are hosted by other individuals or institutions, OKU will ask the host to postpone/cancel the activity.
5. University restaurant is strongly recommended to close during the school closing.
6. Be sure to wash hands and mouth, wear a face mask to prevent oneself from getting infected with the H1N1 virus. Also, going out for unnecessary reasons should be avoided.
7. In the case of fever, cough, sore throat, headache, nasal mucus, difficulty in breathing, and any such symptoms, immediately consult with the local fever counseling center, then follow their advice.
8. In terms of the severity and period of validity, the above mentioned guidelines shall be modified as needed in accordance with the request from the national, regional, or local Health Department. Therefore, students are strongly asked to keep up with the latest information. Latest information is available at OKU homepage.
