Concluded an Agreement regarding the Exchange of Students and Academics with The Hong Kong Institute of Education

Academic exchange agreement signed with Xi'an Institute of Technology (China) We concluded an agreement regarding the exchange of students and academics with The Hong Kong Institute of Education on October 30, 2006. The president of the Hong Kong Institute of Education, Anthony Cheung, attended the signing ceremony conducted at our Kashiwa campus.

The Hong Kong Institute of Education has three departments; including the department of literature and science, the department of education research and the language department. They also have a graduate school and a primary teacher training program in Hong Kong with approximately 6,000 total students, 423 professors, and a faculty which 852 education support staff.

This agreement was initiated when president Inagaki explained, at the request of The Hong Kong Institute of Education last April, about the role of universities in Japanese higher education, the mission of our university and future plans. Our administration officers and professors visited The Hong Kong Institute of Education last November and discussed collaboration leading toward the conclusion of an agreement regarding the purpose of academic and student exchange. Prior to the agreement, more than ten students from The Hong Kong Institute of Education visited us this March, and an active exchange of both students and academics is expected in the future.

This will make a total of 26 institutions (18 institutions for exchanging students) from 11 countries for schools that have agreements with our own school.
