Wavelet analysis and time-frequency analysis
アブストラクト：Wavelet analysis offers a host of advanced techniques that analyze a non-stationary signal locally at different scale levels. It has many successes in modern applications such as data compressions, transmissions, pattern recognition and detection. Time-frequency analysis, particularly the class that is based on the local Fourier analysis, provides a time-frequency representation of a signal and reveals what frequency happens when. Time-frequency analysis techniques are often desirable among practitioners because of their close relationship to the Fourier analysis and easy-interpretation. In general, scales are inversely related to the Fourier frequency; however precise conversion between these two may not always exist. In this talk, we will investigate the relation between wavelet and time-frequency analysis and illustrate their effectiveness in a number of applications.
