Ryuichi Ashino and Remi Vaillancourt wrote a lecture note on Matlab titled A Matlab Compendium for Matlab users in University of Ottawa. A Matlab Compendium was published in Japanese form Kyoritsu Shuppan in July, 1997. This is the image for the cover of the Japanese version.
The image was made by using the texture mapping function warp of Image Processing Toolbox. The original image is the Julia set.
