About the Center

The Collaborative Innovation Center is a platform where universities, companies, local governments and other partners work together to create the future of education.

By connecting advanced expertise in AI, data science, manufacturing and related technologies with education, the Center seeks to make future schools and society more engaging and enriching.

The Center also helps develop teachers with strong capabilities in science and technology, expands opportunities for children and students to engage in inquiry and hands-on creation, and supports science and technology education in schools and communities.

The Center consists of the following three divisions.

Cabinet Office | BRIDGE

Building AI Models for Education and Developing an Agent-AI Educational Support Ecosystem for Human–AI Collaboration

A project to develop and conduct demonstration research on AI agents for education, implemented in collaboration with the National Institute of Informatics and other partners under the Cabinet Office's BRIDGE program.

JST | STELLA

Developing Next-generation Science and Technology Innovators through Making and Multifaceted Perspectives (SCOPE Program)

A Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) STELLA project that develops future science and technology talent through inquiry-based activities for highly motivated and capable elementary and junior high school students.

JICA | Grassroots Technical Cooperation

Strengthening STEAM Education Capacity for Teacher Educators and In-service Primary School Teachers in Vietnam

A program in which Vietnamese teacher educators and in-service primary school teachers learn from Japanese STEAM practices at Osaka Kyoiku University, affiliated schools, science museums and companies, with the goal of developing leaders who will advance STEAM education in Vietnam.

Mirai Education Co-creation Hub / eRA

Promoting Industry–Government–Academia Collaboration and Hub-based Initiatives to Address Emerging Educational Challenges

Initiatives include planning collaborative projects, developing eRA professionals—education-focused university research administrators—and using the Mirai Education Co-creation Hub as a base for partnership activities.
