International Center

The Osaka Kyoiku University International Center has been established to assist international students studying in an unfamiliar culture. Along with such equipment as computers, a television and VCR, there are also international magazines, newspapers, dictionaries, reference books and other useful material.

Mon.-Fri. 9:00-16:00 (except National Holidays and New Year's Day)

International Center Advisors

The international student advisors will furnish international students with helpful advice about all of their study and living affairs. Chiefly, they are in charge of the following matters:

• Japanese language education.
• Consultation about study problems.
• Consultation about financial matters (e. g., offering information on scholarships, waivers of tuition fee, etc.).
• Consultation about everyday living matters (e. g., alien registration, housing, part-time work, etc.).
• Health consultation.
• Consultation about exchange between Japanese citizens and international students (e. g., host family program, etc.).
• Tutor guidance.
• Interviewing international students.

International Student Office

This office does the following international student-related work:

• Organization of international student events.
• Exchange enterprises between local Japanese citizens or students and international students.
• Procedures for scholarships.
• Procedures for receiving medical fee reimbursements.
• Proxy applications for 'Activities other than that stipulated for International Students by the Status of Residence Previously Granted' (for example, permission for part-time work).
• Compilation of documents necessary for the extension of the period of stay in Japan.
• Administration of the International Student Dormitory.
• Affairs relating to the matriculation of Monbukagakusho scholars and short-term exchange students.
• Affairs relating to the dispatch of Japanese students for exchange programs at overseas universities.
