Non-Degree Programs

Research Students

As for particular fields of study, international students who wish to study special subjects can receive research guidance from special academic advisors upon selection. The duration is either one year or one semester. However, it is not possible to receive credits as a research student.

Research students are selected based on their applications. Prior to submitting the application, it is necessary to obtain the consent of an academic advisor of Osaka Kyoiku University.

Eligibility (as of 2005)

Undergraduate Research Student (persons who meet one of the following conditions):
  1. Persons who graduated from university in Japan.
  2. Persons who received the academic status of graduate student conforming to the Japan Education Law, article 68, paragraph 2.3.
  3. Persons who finished school education in a foreign country equal to 16 years of school education in Japan.
  4. Persons designated by the Minister of Education and Science, or who are recognized as possessing equal or superior ability to graduated students in Japan upon entering university at graduate student level.
  5. Further, persons who are recognized by the university as possessing equal or superior ability to graduated students in Japan.

Graduate Research Student (persons who meet one of the following conditions):
  1. Persons who completed a graduate level course with Master's degree at a university in Japan.
  2. Persons who finished school/university education in a foreign country equal to 18 years of school/university education in Japan.
  3. Further, persons who are recognized by the university as possessing equal or superior ability to students who finished a graduate level course with Master's degree in Japan.

Application

  1. Before submitting your application, it is necessary to come in person to Osaka Kyoiku University to obtain eligibility approval. As a general rule, application documents must be written in Japanese (in case the application is written in a language other than Japanese, please include a Japanese translation) and must be submitted in person to the Graduate Student Section of Osaka Kyoiku University. Applications by mail or email cannot be accepted.

    - Osaka Kyoiku University Research Student Application Form
    - Osaka Kyoiku University Research Student Protocol
    - Graduate (Master's) Certificate
    - Academic Record
  2. Persons whose applications have been accepted are requested to bring the official certification fee of 9,800 Yen (to be paid in Japanese Yen only) and the specified submission documents to the Graduate Student Section of Osaka Kyoiku University. Please note that this procedure can only be done in person.

Tuition and Other Fees for Research Students (as of 2005)

Approval Fee: 9,800 yen
Matriculation Fee: 84,600 yen
School Fee (1 semester): 178,200 yen (1 year: 356,400 yen)



International Exchange Students

Students enrolled at a foreign university which has signed an exchange agreement with Osaka Kyoiku University can take part in one-semester or one-year exchange programs. Please inquire at your home university about application procedures.
